After being chosen for the Philadelphia Music Alliance Hall of Fame in 1993, Blavat joined the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame’s Museum of Radio and Records in 1998.
Blavat coined the phrase “keep on rockin’ because you only rock once,” which he later used as the foundation for his 2011 autobiography, “You Only Rock Once: My Life in Music.”
He stayed active in radio, running the Geator Gold Radio Network and the Margate station “Memories.”
